Barbecue Chicken + Barbecue Ribs
I was passing through this famous town, known for its NASCAR race track, and decided to stop for lunch. I chose Logan's because it was visible from the highway, very close to exit 7. I walked in and was greeted by a friendly hostess. As of late, this feature at restaurants has been hard to come by and I was pleasantly surprised.
I sat down in a booth that was open on either side. I thought it was odd and made me feel as if I was in some sort of display. Possibly a podium for the most hungry award. The server came and received my drink order and I chose water. I am not sure where the server went to draw water. Perhaps she went out back to the well. In all seriousness she was probably waiting on the delicious bread to come out in order to bring both together.
I was finally ready to place my order. Nothing sounded appealing but they offered a combo of ribs with a garlic chicken. I asked if I could make the chicken barbecue and they were happy to make that happen. I was also talked into the bacon and cheese fries. Later I found out I should have opted out of the fries all together.
The food came and to my surprise the chicken came on a rice bed. I assumed the chef would know that barbecue chicken would not need rice but, why should I expect so much? I was fortunate enough to like the rice so it didn't ruin my dinner. The ribs had good flavor, but was a little tough in spots. I can always tell how tough because I choose to eat my ribs with a knife and fork.
These fries were not what I was expecting. With little cheese, and even less bacon, these fries left me wondering why they were on the menu at all. Furthermore, the plain fries were not very good. They were chewy and flavorless. Just do yourself a favor and get another side.
Would I eat here again? I definitely would, however, I would learn from this experience and change my order slightly. So for your recap, the service was good, but a little slow. The food was tasty, but not too tasty. Lastly, the seating was comfy, but not too comfy. For some kind service, and getting hoodwinked on the fries, I give this restaurant a picky 3.3 out of 5.
